This November sunrise at Lake Almanor, California in the Sierra-Cascades was perhaps one of the most stunning views I have seen of Lassen Peak. Though blanketed overhead with storm clouds, the sunrise briefly lit up the underside of the clouds, and broadcast pure deep pink color onto the early Autumn snows on the flanks of Lassen Peak and adjacent mountains.
I have lived in Plumas County since 1977. It is a place so steeped in nature and wildlife, that every day, every view, is a photographic opportunity.
