A breathtaking view of Lassen Peak, a dormant volcano that erupted as recent as 100 years ago. Taken at Lake Almanor, the bridge between the Sierra and Cascade mountain ranges, in northeastern California. Christmas morning, sub-freezing temperatures, in my pajamas.

I have lived in Plumas County since 1977. It is a place so steeped in nature and wildlife, that every day, every view, is a photographic opportunity. Photography captures and freezes moments in time that would otherwise be missed, or compressed by our brains into the daily mash of life.
